Excursion #1:
Tour the Newberry Opera House, Carter and Holmes Orchid Nursery, and Enoree River Winery. Highlights include:
  • The Newberry Opera House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a french Gothic-style building originally built in 1881 as a seat of government for the town of Newberry and a place of entertainment including plays, lectures, and minstrel and variety shows, and later a movie theater. The building continues to serve as a live-performance space for popular artists, touring theatre companies, and local organizations.
