Please join us on November 6 and 7, 2024 for the South Carolina Nature-Based Tourism Association (SCNBTA) annual meeting and networking event at the Cambria Hotel in Fort Mill, SC.
This year’s conference will feature inspiring speakers, including Keynote speaker Katherine Podmore from Kings Mountain State Park and Libby Imbody from AuthentiCiTY Brand Strategies, who will focus on branding and business goals. Outdoor adventures will also be offered including a guided hike of the Anne Springs Close Greenway and optional kayak excursion on Lake Haigler. Connect with industry peers, gain insights into nature-based tourism, and explore the natural beauty of York County.

More information regarding registration, conference program, and lodging is detailed below.
Registration: All attendees are required to register. The early bird registration is $75.00 and ends on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The regular registration rate is $85.00. Additional conference registrants from the same organization are eligible for a reduced rate of $65.00 per registration. The deadline for registering is Thursday, October 31, 2024. The registration fee covers the meeting sessions, guided hike, and and lunch on November 7.

Conference Venue and Lodging: The event will be held at held at Cambria Fort Mill (340 Amistead Avenue, Fort Mill, SC, 29708). A room block has been set up and is available through Thursday, October 24, 2024. To book online, click here.

Learn from a marketing expert about identifying design messaging, marketing, and strategies to build engagement and awareness of your brand or community.
Libby Imbody is a branding and marketing strategist with more than 20 years of experience in helping clients uncover their genuine narratives and crafting marketing and branding strategies that resonate with their target audience. In addition to her expertise in branding and design, she has also worked in community and economic development, giving her a comprehensive understanding of downtown revitalization. Combining these skills, she founded AuthentiCiTY Brand Strategies, a full-service branding and design firm focusing on communities and the organizations that serve them. Libby is passionate about helping others identify and tell their authentic stories.
Field Studies
Anne Springs Close Greenway – For the nature hike and kayak excursion, participants will depart from the hotel at 12:45 p.m. Participants can drive their personal vehicles or carpool. The distance is approximately 15 miles from the hotel and depending on traffic takes between 15-20 minutes.
Greenway Guided Nature History Hike – Guided by a Greenway expert, participants will learn about the history and significance of the area while exploring the local flora and fauna.
Paddling Excursion on Lake Haigler – Participants who would like to continue on an adventure will have an opportunity to go on a kayak tour on Lake Haigler. Please note there is an additional $15 fee and advanced registration is required. To sign up, select the kayak tour to add it to your cart when paying for your conference registration.
Reminders:
- Closed-toe shoes with a heel (sneakers) are required. We recommend that participants wear athletic, comfortable clothes that they can easily move in and bring water.
- Waivers are required for everyone participating. Paper copies will be available on-site. Once registered, you will be sent a waiver. To save time at check-in it is recommended that you print and complete the waiver ahead of time and bring with you the day of the event.
