Mark your calendars and join us for the South Carolina Nature-Based Tourism Association Virtual Conference on November 5, 2020 and November 9, 2020. The conference will kick-off with the SCNBTA Business meeting on November 5 at 10:00 a.m. On November 9, 2020, engage in a dynamic conversation with guest speaker, Simon Hudson at 2:00 p.m. as he discusses the impacts of the pandemic on nature-based tourism .  Both events are open to all SCNBTA members. There is no cost to participate, but registration is required.

About the Webinar
The South Carolina Nature-Based Tourism Association is pleased to offer a webinar with Simon Hudson, travel industry consultant, tourism professor at the University of South Carolina, and author of “COVID-19 & Travel:  Impacts, Responses and Outcomes.” 

Please join us on November 9 at 2:00 p.m. for a presentation by Dr. Hudson where he will be discussing the devastating impact that COVID-19 has had on the tourism and hospitality sector, and how this has impacted nature-based tourism. He will explain what those in the nature-based tourism sector are doing – or should be doing – to survive, and make predictions as to what the future might look like for individuals or organizations in South Carolina that are dependent on nature-based tourism.

Dr. Simon Hudson, Guest Speaker at the 2020 SC Nature Based Virtual Conference

Simon Hudson is a tourism professor at the University of South Carolina and a consultant for the travel industry. He has written 10 books (including the recently published COVID-19 & Travel) and over 100 research articles and book chapters. With an eclectic background in the ski industry, retail and academia, Simon is a fount of international experience and comprehensive business information. His cosmopolitan and creative ideas have been influenced by award-winning work at the University of Calgary and the University of Brighton, as well as visiting academic positions he has held in Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia. Simon has also taught three times on Semester at Sea, a floating university that circumnavigates the world.
