This 417-acre preserve managed by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources was acquired and dedicated to protect a longleaf pine-scrub oak sandhills ecosystem. Explore a number of hiking trails in the hilly terrain and along wetlands throughout the property. The rare plant species bog spice bush (Lindera subcoriacea) can be found here. This preserve is named in honor of Frank P. Henderson, a former Mayor of Aiken.
