The Elloree Heritage Museum & Cultural Center showcases the state’s past, portraying rural life when the Town of Elloree was founded. Take a tour of Cleveland St as it appeared in 1900s with recreated stores, a bank and a hotel. Explore a plantation cotton gin, learn how cotton is grown, picked, and ginned today, see the 18th century town founder’s home, Snider Cabin, and meet our farm mule, Ruby Doo. Discover how early residents engaged with nature to survive. Learn why our town is named Elloree, the Native American word for “The Home I Love.”
An audio tour is available and group tours with a trained docent can be scheduled upon request.
