Heritage Preserve. Turn left on Spring Branch Rd (near the Lil Country Store). Drive 5 miles, turn right on Oak Ridge Club Rd. The preserve is 1 mile down, located on both sides of the road. Hiking and limited horseback riding. No motorized vehicles. This 1,500-acre preserve is home to the rare and state-listed endangered gopher tortoise. The preserve is the northern most known location of the large terrestrial tortoises.
